Chrysler 1971 VH Charger R/T E38 (Discontinued) by TRAX of Australia 1:24 TRL5

“Get a load of this little beauty!” After a string of Holdens and Falcons, TRAX has let loose with a nifty little Chrysler product – the ’71 VH Charger R/T E38. For some reason, “Chrysler down under” chose a triple-carbed six over the more usual V-8. Nonetheless, the car was still a stormer, qualifying at Bathurst racetrack and igniting a lot of excitement on the street. I must say that this little gem is beautifully proportioned. It was a small car, suited for its locale at the time, but it would fit right in on America's streets today. TRAX has done a fine job with this image. I wasn’t too thrilled with the magenta-hued paint job, so I ordered mine in Vitamin C Orange (actually, it looks better than it sounds). The paint’s flawless as are all the external features. The hood’s black and the racing stripes are laser sharp. The chrome parts are crisp, with features such as door handles and lamps done as separate parts. Door, hood and trunk seams are tight as a drum. The undercarriage, under-hood, in-trunk, and passenger compartment detailing is as good as it gets. Everything that was on, or in, the original car is there. Working features include a full suspension, tilting seat backs, opening glove box door and (hooray!) roll-down windows! TRAX has gone to a lot of trouble with this image and it certainly shows. They’re obviously watching the other mints and are taking notes.
