Mercedes Benz 300 SL #4- Carrera Panamericana
The CMC rendition of the 300SL is thrilling! The aerodynamic line is perfectly carved and sealed in flawless Silver. A set of labels, decals and tampo prints combine to replicate the racing regalia. The unmistakeably front grille stands out, together with the exquisite lamps and trunk emblems. The tiny windshield bars are metal, as are the photo-etched wipers. Velour carpeting, tartan seats and leather dashboard lavishly fit the interior, complete down to the photo-etched "300SL" writing! Even the vents on the side windows operate! Two spare wheels fill the trunk, in true racing trim. Held by a delicate leather strap, the bonnet hides an engine bay, crammed with detail! The wheels are excellent, along with the Continental tires. Minor criticisms: the "gullwings" touch each other before reaching the full-open position; the rendition of the floor-pan seems a bit too simplified. A full-size replica of the medal awarded to K.Kling by the German Department of Transportation is included! Just a trifle short of reaching 5 stars, this model is a 'winner'!
