Corvette Coupe 1997 Red WW 95
Redesigned from the ground up, the C5 has 1500 less parts (!) than its C4 predecessor. Some purists may carp at the level of civility that was incorporated into this car by those wily Chevy engineers but who says a 180+ mph car can't be safe too? To my way of thinking, the only reason past 'Vette owners liked those quirks was because they were forced to put up with 'em! As Tony so ably pointed out, the level of detailing on the 1:24 scale die cast model of the 1997 Corvette by FM is beginning to make them a genuine bargain at $90. While not as visually stunning as its black counterpart, the Torch Red color isn't too "orangey" and is nicely polished. The instrument panel, console and door details are nicely contoured, giving a 3-D look. This model is more like it!
